Now that Hillary has started attacking Trump on the minimum wage, has that now become part of the DNC platform?
We’ve heard this for years, and have seen no indication of willingness to fight. I’m not talking about victories, I’m talking about fights, and none have occurred. Simply put the DNC has absolutely no credibility on this issue to me, and Hillary attacking Trump over minimum wage is merely moral posturing.
In addition it’s widely known that the established economic institutions, Ex: IMF, WTO, believe we need wage reductions not increases. The DNC pragmatism comes from never disagreeing with those interests.
In fact, Trump has more credibility on the issue. Only he and Bernie have shown any willingness to challenge the monstrous and illegitimate institutions. That’s not something I’m happy about, but it’s the truth.
On the other hand, what would it take to convince me they are not just saying things they have no intention of even fighting for?
Every minimum wage proposal has some provisions which put the issue to bed forever, A percentage of the average US income that dictates the wage. If it’s each state, that gets it’s own calculation, that would work. The mechanism should be resistant to increasing inequality, of which inflation would not touch.
They lost the ability to claim that they can handle on going wage fights, it was never a valid option, and it’s beyond clear we cannot allow it to happen again.
I don’t know why I waste my time really, our system is completely illegitimate, and now exists by force alone. I love Bernie, I really do, but the opportunity to prevent large-scale social struggle is being bucked by the DNC.
