New Mexico - Chairwoman Debra Haaland New Mexico Democratic Party Chair and tribal administrator of San Felipe Pueblo, has a great website here. One that’s worth bookmarking.
In the past, Daily Kos has been a huge (boy, Trump has ruined that word for us, hasn’t he?) supporter of Native American issues. From raising money for heating in the freezing winters on reservations, to helping fund a community center and “back to school supplies” yearly.
I’m hoping that the more First People we can get in Congress the better chance we have of government doing the things we’ve done, and much, much, more.
In fact there is a group here on Daily Kos Native American Netroots. Their profile says:
A forum for the discussion of political, social and economic issues affecting the indigenous peoples of the United States, including their lack of political representation, economic deprivation, health care issues, and the on-going struggle for preservation of identity and cultural history.
So this is right in their wheelhouse. I used to be a member of this group, don’t know what happened there, but I’d like to call on the members of this group to write about these candidates, the state chair, and Four Directions. Even though the groups profile says “a forum for discussion”, I know this group to be a group of action.
