Are you going to Netroots Nation for the first time this year? If you have been to Netroots Nation, do you remember the first time you went there? What advice would you give to first-timer attenders? What would you like to have been told before you went to Netroots Nation for the first time?
My Suggestion
The first Netroots Nation I attended was in Detroit in 2014. In retrospect, I can think of one factor that would have improved my experience. I took with me a cellphone, a “dumb” phone; I did not take a smart phone. However, I did not have enough phone numbers of my friends from Daily Kos. Therefore, I was unable to contact my friends to see where we could meet, what sessions they were going to, where they were eating lunch, etc. If I go to Netroots Nation again, I will take a smart phone, and that is what I would suggest to first-timers.
I will be unable to attend Netroots Nation this year, and many others will also be unable to attend. Even when I was at Netroots Nation, there were important presentations I was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
Transcriptionists of the Community Transcripts Project could transcribe many events at Netroots Nation, but we would need the financial support of the Daily Kos community to do that.
Question of the Day:
If you have been to a Netroots Nation in the past, what tips do you have for first-time attenders of Netroots Nation?
