Heading into tomorrow’s last few primaries, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is touting the big state of California as make or break time for both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. If Bernie wins California, he can magically go on with his campaign all the way to the convention with momentum on his side. If Hillary loses California, her momentum will be stalled and the “optics” will look bad seeing the eventual nominee losing California.
The question I have is are these people serious?? With her Puerto Rico win last night, Hillary is just 24 delegates short of getting the nomination. At 8PM, the polls close in New Jersey. At 8PM and 15 seconds, Hillary will have won New Jersey and the nomination will be hers.
Why is everyone ignoring New Jersey?? The state that will put Hillary over the top is barely being mentioned, while California, a state that probably will not matter by the time the polls close there, gets played up big time by the media?? Doesn’t make any sense to me. The point is that even if Bernie wins California by 60 points, it isn’t going to matter.
I say to the media, stop hyping California like it’s some sort of make or break state, because it isn’t. If Hillary were down 300 delegates, then it would be a different story. Don’t get me wrong, California is an important state, and they will have their voices heard, but this isn’t a must win for Hillary, so stop hyping it like it is.
