Read the paragraph Melania Trump stole from Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech:
Ms. Trump, Monday night:
“From a young age, my parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life, that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise, that you treat people with respect. They taught and showed me values and morals in their daily lives. That is a lesson that I continue to pass along to our son. And we need to pass those lessons on to the many generations to follow. Because we want our children in this nation to know that the only limit to your achievements is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”
The stolen parts are in bold.
When the time came to speak about the values her parents taught her and the values the she wishes to pass on to her child, she couldn't write about any of her own. This isn't borrowing a joke or a red meat applause line. This is basic "who I am” stuff. So she decided to use someone else's property, put a huge gold-plated TRUMP sign on it, and pass it off as her own. She's definitely learned the family business.
What's important for voters is this: Melania Trump should know Donald Trump better than anyone. She chose to be his ultimate character witness. But what she revealed in the words she chose to steal is that her own vapid, broken moral compass is so devoid of truth, she is in no position to speak about Trump's character.
Nothing she said in that speech about who her husband is as a person has any credibility. That's the way it goes with plagiarism: If anything is rotten, it’s all rotten.
