Last night was the night Donald Trump got the establishment's blessing in the form of House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. After all of Ryan's bluster and chastising of the nominee of the past weeks, the full embrace was a little discomfiting. But it was McConnell who had the really jarring moment. This:
McConnell has been coy about Trump and his suitability to be president. But he's now seemingly decided that Trump is going to be his rubber stamp on policy. If that means turning the Supreme Court over to this guy he's not sure is really qualified to be president, well, he's okay with that.
That's so far been really not okay with the American voting public. They have good reason. Trump's list of nominees are a judicial nightmare.
