While it is the prerogative of the nominee to choose her own Vice President as that will be, at times, the only friend they will have throughout their presidency. However, that pick should also instill confidence and strength for the message you are putting out there. I was a Bernie Sanders supporter and ran a campaign on a similar platform but also felt that Hillary Clinton was, is and will be a Progressive fighter.
I truly believe that Hillary believes in a more inclusive and progressive future for all Americans, but a choice of Tim Kaine as her Vice President does not support that vision. While terrorism and foreign policy are dominating politics at the moment (and rightfully so) most elections still come down to the economic vision that a candidate has.
Time Kaine does not believe in that economic vision, as he has explicitly called for the deregulations of banks as well as reducing consumer protections on small community banks. At a time when many Americans are still feeling the pain of the collapse caused by the unregulated financial and banking industry in 2007-2008, most Americans do not want to hear about how banks have it tough now.
There are many wonderful choices for Vice President that Secretary Clinton can choose that will fight for an inclusive and progressive vision. Tim Kaine is not that individual. A good Senator for Virginia, the wrong Vice President for America.
The first big decision that a potential president makes, is a vice president. Either way, Clinton has my full support.
