OK, so I know precious few conservatives come here to dkos to answer questions from pointed-headed liberals such as myself. But I was struck by something Ted Cruz said in his address to the Republican convention last night, and I’m hoping someone can enlighten me.
In his address last night, Cruz said:
“To those listening, please, don’t stay home in November. If you love our country, and love your children as much as I know you do, stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution..."
So now my question: given this above quoted passage, why does everyone think these words are not an endorsement of Trump? Why does everyone assume Cruz is suggesting a vote for someone else?
