I think that Clinton is coming across as completely tone deaf right now. let me state before I start that I voted for her and have always supported her and defended her since she announced...
First, picking Kaine even though he is a great guy and well prepared to be CIC was the wrong pick for this year, this year is NOT a Kaine election, stating that he has the experienc needed is bullshit, she needed a Wall Street fighter a blatant and boastful and loud one - talk this talk about how democrats are more united around Clinton than they were around Obama at this time in 2008 misses the whole point that
1. 2008 was not an anti-establishment election, this is to the 100000000 degree...
2. Many of the Sanders democratic leaning supporters are actually independents and they are NOT supporting her with large percentages
3. Building up that there could be a possibility of a change VP softened many Sanders supporters dislike of her and then delivering the person who has been successfully labeled in the press as the status quo makes it even worse
That she didn't realize that is frightening...
Second, justify all you want the DNC emails but they play right into the heart of the Bernie supporters gripes about Clinton and the democratic machine...combined with the Kaine pick that is a one two punch right in the gut right before what should be a showcase of unity (from all indications there are more democratic leaning protestors in Philly than there were protestors in Cleveland...let me say that again...there are MORE protestors protesting our candidate than Donald (Putin) Trump!!
Third, it was obvious by last night that DWS needed to resign, ok, so she is...it should have been immediate, already tone deaf. It wasn't, ok...so she should be a shadow figure at the convention because whether justified or not she has come to symbolize everything wrong with the democratic establishment...and now she is giving a speech? Seriously? You Don't need to be Einstein to know that whatever lovely words she might have prepared about party unity and getting together to defeat trump are going to be drown out by boos and anger. The story tomorrow night should be about Bernie Sanders ringing endorsement and instead it will be about just how fractured the party is. This didn't have to happen, this is Clintons convention, she needs to shut DWS down immediately, and NoT for fucks sake say that she will be chairman of her 50 state strategy (how bout not rubbing more salt in those wounds okay?)
I know that Trump can say a million stupid thing to screw this election up, but I worry that for the most important week for the democrats, our leaders are not seeing what should be incredibly obvious and could have been avoided on so many levels...
