Get over it.
I’d like to be able to watch this convention and follow the live threads here, and try to get myself excited about the future of the country, of the party, and of my participation in it. I’m making what I think is a reasonable request to hold the pearl clutching until after the convention concludes each night.
It really is too much, and a huge distraction from all the important things that are happening.
When a speaker says something that a bunch of the audience doesn’t like, they may boo. If a speaker comes up that people don’t like they may boo. At some point they may even chant. I doubt this will be done long enough or loud enough to be a major disruption to the convention, although the idiot newscasters will try to make something of it, because that’s what they do.
Unlike the Republican convention, we will not have a candidate refusing to support the winner. We will not have hate-filled racist, sexist speakers, and a complete and utter idiot accepting the nomination.
Bernie Sanders is going to tell his supporters to support Hillary Clinton and then he’s going to tell them the next steps forward past the convention, past the election, to work to achieve their goals. This is a good thing, although some people may boo a bit.
The 85% of Sanders’ supporters planning to vote for Hillary would like a chance to enjoy the convention too, without having to listen to a load of nasty remarks directed at us by people with no perspective.
A little bit of disagreement during the convention will not be the end of the world, unless you make it so. Please don’t make it so.
