I mean, where could they get such an odd idea.
Bill O’Reilly devoted an entire segment on his Wednesday show to discussing President Barack Obama’s “emotional attachment to the Muslim world,” which, he claimed, “has hurt the USA.”
Seven years. Seven years. For over seven years now, Bill O’Reilly has stood up and, almost on a daily basis, demonstrated that he will lie again, and again, and again in order to wound an honorable man who has turned out to be the best president in at least half a century. The poisonous nationalism, racism, misogyny, anti-immigrant hate-mongering, authoritarianism, and pure anti-Americanism that has come to bloom in Donald Trump, has been nursed every day of his career, by Bill O’Reilly.
O’Reilly went on to present details, which he admitted were “very difficult to verify at this point,” of Obama’s attendance at his Muslim half-brother’s wedding, where he may or may not have been the best man.
Yeah, it can be very difficult to verify pure bullshit. But that doesn’t stop O’Reilly from using it as a means of joining Donald Trump in hinting that the president is somehow in league with enemies of the nation.
After all this time, surely someone is ready to say: This isn’t cute. This isn’t journalism. This isn’t acceptable.
Bill O’Reilly is not some lovable crotchety uncle and he’s not some jokeworthy “poppa bear.” He’s a vile, malicious son of a bitch. He doesn’t deserve his own show, and he certainly doesn’t deserve to be a guest on someone else’s show.
