Okay guys! Since the last t-shirt planning diary is now closed to comments (it got too old), here’s a new one complete with updates!
It looks like we’re going with CafePress. CafePress is a good compromise because they have Made in USA options (American Apparel — not my favorite, but it is what it is) AND because they offer the option to sell designs straight to you without me as the shirt “creator” taking a profit.
At this juncture, the plan is to have a white standard t-shirt and a medium blue standard t-shirt (the blue might not be made in USA, though). I would also like to have a woman’s-cut white t option as well. There will likely be room for more options, but we may be limited as to color.
My current plan is to run the art past you guys, finalize the names, and pick some specific shirt options so you guys can get an idea of price. Then, I’ll order test versions to make sure things look right. Once that’s done, I’ll make a small selection of shirt options available for you to order straight from CafePress.
So here’s where we’re at. This is the art I’ve come up with. It includes all the names we came up with in the last diary, everyone who rec’d this diary, and everyone who asked to be added in the comments below. If you are missing, please let me know in the comments. My goal is to close the list on August 23. I basically put everyone in reclist order, moving some names around to better fill in the space. This is a good random way to do it, I think, but if my system bugs you and you have a better suggestion for ordering our names, let me know.
I used the “From under the bus...to on the bus and driving!” quote (suggested in the last diary comment area) on the back and “Under the bus? Not anymore!” (suggested below) on the front (don’t worry, we can probably do a “She won’t stay throwed!” shirt or hoodie, too; the consensus seemed to be that that was better suited to a new shirt project). Also as suggested I put a bunch of little people of different colors to represent all of us. The blonde lady in teal is Hillary, driving. ;)
This image is a 72dpi .jpg version of a larger 200dpi .psd file (the resolution required by CafePress). The dimensions are those required by CafePress for most t-shirt products they offer. The font used is Futura, which was the inspiration for Sharp and Unity, the fonts used by the Clinton campaign. Futura was also apparently used by Richard Nixon’s campaign, but we’ll pretend that never happened. ;D
So, let me know what you think, and if you aren’t named, please please please tell me below!

Okay, I just updated everyone listed in the last “to add” update list and everyone in the comments and reclist that wasn’t already added. Please do check to make sure you and your suggestions are listed correctly (I do my best but lose stuff in the shuffle sometimes!). Heard back from Zazzle that you can’t turn off profit, so it looks like CafePress is making the most sense. Still waiting to hear from them re: a few details. Also, remember that a blue shirt may need different art/colors given the way the colors are rendered on dark shirts. And, some options may not be made in USA (seems to be basically the same offerings at both Cafe and Zazzle). I will do my best to label which options are and aren’t, but I will be using info provided to me by the companies so I can’t verify until and if I order the product myself to test it. :)

Good news! CafePress does indeed allow a seller/creator to turn off profits, so all of us will be able to purchase direct from CafePress and avoid extra steps/me as a middleman. That said, we still have to finalize our name list (don’t worry, I’m keeping a tally of folks as they chime in in the comments) AND I will have to proof the items to make sure they look right in person before I release them for purchase.
How long should we wait on the last names? Another week? I know we’re not in a huge hurry, but my life is going to get busy again for a little while and I want to make sure that the t-shirts are available to purchase fairly soon.

Okay, I just updated the last few names and added “2016” in place of the “H” logo (CafePress doesn’t like you using campaign logos, apparently). If everything looks good, I’ll order a couple of proofs and then let you guys go crazy ordering your own shirts. :)
