Hillary’s hard-hitting take down of Trump and his white nationalist positions/support makes me remember the mid-’60s. At that time, segregationist and racist Democrats in the South began flocking in large numbers to the Republican Party. They couldn’t abide the Democrats’ full throated endorsement of civil rights. The unease of many Republicans with Trump’s racial profiling could start a reverse trend: non-racist industrial and farm state Republicans moving out of the party. They can’t abide it’s takeover by sexist, anti-Semitic, misogynistic white power types. These folks may not become Democrats but they will have a hard time staying in a party dominated by Trumpistas.
