El Trumpo Noticias: Well Enrique Peña Nieto and Erik's man Trump now are in a (bitter) twitter dispute about who said what about the financing of the wall. Kind of ridiculous to begin with, because the whole concept of this physical wall seems preposterous. From the Huffington Post (link tinyurl.com/... )"Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto took to Twitter Thursday afternoon to once again insist that his country won’t pay for a border wall, no matter how many times GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump promises it will."
Garrison Keillor today let's loose on Trump (Chicago Tribune tinyurl.com/… )
"Labor Day and it is not going well. You had a very bad month. You tossed out those wisecracks on Twitter and the Earth shook and your ratings among white suburban women with French cookware declined. The teleprompter is not your friend." Anyway the point is, for YOU Congressman Paulsen, what do you stand to gain from this campaign of yours? Have you actually thought about what has become of your party and how you will have to deal with people on your side of the aisle? Jason Lewis for instance, running for Congress on your party's ticket who has repeatedly and consistently said outrageous things: "I never thought in my lifetime where’d you have so many single, or I should say, yeah single women who would vote on the issue of somebody else buying their diaphragm. This is a country in crisis. Those women are ignorant in, I mean, the most generic way. I don’t mean that to be a pejorative. They are simply ignorant of the important issues in life. Somebody’s got to educa them." Those comments qualify him as a misogynist don't you think? (link tinyurl.com/… )
In the Times yesterday, Thomas Friedman had this to say: "It will be a tragedy if center-right Republicans conclude that their only problem is Donald Trump, and that once he's gone the G.O.P. will be theirs again. Their party is over. They either have to become conservative Democrats or redefine a responsible center-right G.O.P. with a different base." (link tinyurl.com/...)
Whatever you think of Friedman, in this instance he is absolutely right and couldn't be clearer: YOUR PARTY IS OVER! You presumably tell yourself you are running for re-election because you think you'll do good work in the House. With some exceptions, I don't think you've done much that is good work at all, but that's beside the point I'm trying to make. Take a good look at the people you'll be working with and working for in the congress. And take a good look at the rest of your life. You have a beautiful family. Do something for which they will be proud of you. The congress is not for you. If you don't decide, then maybe the voters in MN-03 will.
