The summer exhibit Fangs, Fur & Feathers: The Art of Animals at the Northwest Museum of Art and Culture in Spokane, Washington showcased some of the amazing diversity of life. The exhibit included the Museum’s taxidermy collection.
According to the display:
“As more and more animals on the planet become extinct, museums are turning to taxidermy as a way to preserve ‘perfect’ species and their biological information. ‘Best of’ specimens are now the preference, rather that the old animal forms, which often contained pesticides like arsenic and were made from a single animal.”
