Translation: How dare you ask about the guy we're trying to get elected to the highest office in the land. No, I don't care that he aired information about his classified briefings to an audience of 10 million-plus. No, I don't care that he said our generals were useless, or "reduced to rubble" as he put it. No, I don't care that he thinks he can unilaterally replace all the generals if he becomes president. All I care about is keeping my job as Majority Leader—risking the country's future and global stability along with it is totally worth it in my view.
Sen. Bob Corker on Wednesday had the same reaction as Ryan when Corker was given nine opportunities during one interview to express any confidence at all in Donald Trump's ability to be commander-in-chief.
