So, in response to the latest #HillaryNontroversy, I stated the following on Twitter:
My official statement on Trump supporters as a lowly county commissioner candidate in Mitt Romney’s hometown:
“If you vote for Donald Trump, you're supporting racism, bigotry, misogyny, xenophobia and stupidity. Not every Trump supporter is racist, but every one of them is supporting racism, whether they think they are or not.”
And in response, I received the following:
Oh, yeah...there was also one charming “Twitter Egg” who attempted to “dox” me by threatening to inform my employer (Brainwrap Web Design) that one of its employees is calling him racist. He called on his fellow white supremacists to call Brainwrap’s “corporate headquarters” to see if “they” agree with their “employee” about this, and posted “Brainwrap’s” phone number.
I didn’t have the heart to tell him that I am Brainwrap, that I’m my own boss, that it’s my own phone number, and that I’m unlikely to fire myself anytime soon.
And then he threatened to start harassing Brainwrap’s web design clients. This could prove a bit more problematic, of course, although I’m not sure how complaining to my clients that their website developer called him out for being a racist is going to accomplish much...but it could be inconvenient for them.
Oh, as for the last one, I looked up #DOTR. It stands for “Day of the Rope”:
Its white supremacist trash. In the plot summary of the wikipedia article you linked for the novel, The Day of the Rope is what the fictional characters call the day that they raided all the homes of "race traitors", dragged them into the streets and hung them from lamp posts. Its a defining moment for a white supremacists dream of a perfect race war where all non-whites eventually get eliminated.
To be clear, it is pure unfiltered hate. As I understand it, the original concept of the day of the rope was aimed purely towards racial purification.
UPDATE: I’m not trying to turn this into another plug for my campaign, seriously, but just for the record:
- Yes, I’m Jewish.
- My opponent also happens to be Jewish.
- My opponent...supports Donald Trump:
What else is there for me to say?
