The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Fox News' Judge Andrew Napolitano is off the air—indefinitely.
After Napolitano, Fox's senior judicial analyst, made false claims about President Obama going outside the U.S. intelligence community and seeking help from British intelligence to wiretap Trump Tower, British officials slapped that story down immediately. At a news briefing with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Trump attributed his latest “source” on the wiretapping charges to the “respected" expert at Fox.
It wasn't true the first time Trump tweeted it, and silly stories from Napolitano don't make it any truer. According to the Times story:
Fox News did not respond to inquiries about Napolitano’s status Monday. Napolitano was conspicuously missing from the network’s coverage of the confirmation hearings on Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch — an event in which he typically would have played a significant role. He has not been on the air since Thursday.
People familiar with the situation who could speak only on the condition of anonymity said Napolitano is not expected to be on Fox News Channel any time in the near future. Napolitano was not available for comment.
For the time being, at least, Napolitano is going to have to peddle his lies somewhere else.
