Within seconds of the hand hitting the Bible, "climate" disappeared from the White House website as @TeamTrump seized control from the Obama Administration. In its place, a truthiness-laden paean to fossil fuels that simply ignores the accelerating energy revolution sweeping the world. No mention of plunging LED, solar, wind, and other 'clean-energy' prices as their market penetration skyrockets. No discussion of the >$50 trillion market opportunity in these and other climate-action business opportunities.
There are some holdovers from the Obama Administration on the White House website, including the ability to petition the Administration.
With the above in mind, I have created the following petition:
The international economy is undergoing a revolution: nations are boosting their economies while reducing their pollution.
U.S. trade partners and economic competitors are finding clean energy (solar, wind) and energy efficiency to be strongly boosting their economies and increasing competitiveness while leading to cleaner air and water for their people. China has recently announced plans to invest $350 billion (BILLION) in clean energy while creating 13 million jobs by 2020.
With each passing day, clean energy options are becoming less expensive and increasingly (far) lower cost than traditional, polluting fossil-fuel energy options.
The Trump Administration can fulfill its pledge to protect air/water, create jobs, and boost the economy through serious climate action.
=====
The above petition requires 10,000 signatures by 19 February 2017 to get a White House response.
Will you be one of those signatories?
In December 2016, I joined a 'social media' meeting in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building where members of the Obama White House social media team discussed their activities over the years and lessons from them. Part of the discussion was, in fact, on White House petitions. They emphasized that these led, if there were enough signatures, to serious discussion not just in the White House but across the Administration. Even where there weren't public statements or 'change' in policy, they asserted, these discussions led to reflection and deeper discussions re policy. Thus, even when 'hidden', these petitions had impact on the Obama Administration. Who knows if @TeamTrump will be as thoughtfully reflective and take their responsibilities to the American public as seriously.

Just like having 800k or so on DC streets yesterday, there is messaging:
During the Obama years, there would be 2A petitions that hit the 100k -- so, let's have a climate petition get 25 signatures??? Wow, that really signals some interest in it.
What if one of the first petitions, during Trump years, that hits 100,000 is climate related? (1st one to go over 100,000 was re releasing taxes ... divest/blind trust is over 57k.) Do you think we might be able to get 15 seconds of fame for it in some reporting? That it would be a item to tick off amid all the pressure items?
Truly, imo, sad that this petition has all of 37 signatures at the moment --
