I travel to Oregon a lot to visit my son and his family. I use a shuttle sevice to get to and from the Portland Airport and Eugene. The last trip I made, I noticed a sign on the front door of their office/hub in Albany. It basically said, as proud supporters of the 2nd amendment, guns were welcome at their establishment. It was basically the opposite of a no guns allowed sign. The idea of travelling with armed passengers on a shuttle bus horrfied me. I sent a message to them about their gun policy and received the following email response:
“Hi my name is Eric the operations manager for Hut Airport shuttle. I sorry if people legally carry fire arms scare you but it makes me feel more safe. If us supporting the second amendment makes you uncomfortable than I'm sorry but its our right. Just FYI Place that outwardly support the right to bare arms are less likely to be robbed and be attacked by terrorist. That is why we post and it and support it. I hope you have better luck trying another company and stay safe. Thanks Eric”
This response horrified me even more so I wrote a review about my experience with them on Yelp. My one star review for them did not meet Yelp’s standards for recommendation so it was a review that was basically hidden. I guess they figured people would not want to know that a shuttle bus they might want to use allowed its passengers to carry guns on board.
