I hardly ever do anything but linger, read, think and comment. But I found myself with a question today, so I thought that I would just pose it to the bloggers on Daily Kos and see what sort of response I might get. Before I begin, I know that in a sense that this is a ludicrous question, but still.
“If corporations are people, my friend”, as our Republican opponents say...then shouldn’t the internet be considered part of the “Free Press”? Shouldn’t any attempt to limit the freedom of the internet, by the FCC or anyone else, be met with the ACLU holding up the First Amendment to the Bill of Rights? After all, if money is now speech, and speech is protected by First Amendment Rights, why isn’t internet speech, which is actual speech, protected as well.
Well, there you are. I’m not in any sense a debater. Never was, never will be...as I’ve just demonstrated. Nevertheless, this is a question that I would like to see some discussion of.
