Adolphus Busch fled Germany in 1857 and made his way to St. Louis, Missouri. Eight years later he met another immigrant, Ebhard Anheuser, married his daughter, Lilly, and the two men began what would become the largest brewery in the world. It was a family affair that became a legendary success.
Budweiser purchased a full 60 seconds of air time during this year’s Super Bowl to celebrate their immigration to the United States. Given the timely topic of immigration and a campaign of xenophobia from the Trump regime (backed by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell), the ad airing this weekend is likely to upset some conservatives.
