I’ve known Don Beyer since he was chairing Howard Dean’s campaign in Virginia, starting back in the Fall of 2003. I worked with him during that campaign and have stayed in touch over the years. When Jim Moran decided to retire and Don announced for the seat, I immediately offered to help in any way I could. Don easily won the primary in our heavily Democratic district.
Don was one of a number of Congressmen, also including John Delaney, Gerry Connolly, and newly elected Jamie Raskin, who went to Dulles Airport on Saturday to try to assist those being caught in the mess of the Executive Order. He has written about what he saw there in Politico Magazine.
You can read that. I want to share something else.
After Trump posted this tweet
Rep. Beyer responded with a tweet storm that is worth sharing. Each tweet was posted in direct response to the tweet above, which means each tweet reminded readers of what Trump had said about “bad people (with bad intentions).”
Here it is, in its entirety:
My sense is this is as powerful and effective a pushback against a Trump tweet as I have seen.
I hope people share the thread widely.
