Look, I know we’re all reeling. We’ve been in a constant state of adrenaline pumped fight or flight, 24 hours a day, every single day, hell, every single second, since November 8. We need comfort big time. But …
We’re grabbing for straws if we think Dubya is suddenly the voice that will save us. He’s not. He said a good thing. That’s fine, thanks George. Really appreciate it.
But George has it made. He seriously has no worries. He doesn’t like Trump, but he’s cool with Pence, which means he really doesn’t give a flying fuck about what happens to anyone reading this who doesn’t have it made.
I’m tired. I have to spend most of the rest of my day working for enough money to keep a roof over my head and food in my pantry and I have to do that despite the fact that I’m worried as hell that the next time I need to refill my prescription, I won’t be able to because there’s simply not enough hours in a day for me to make enough money to pay for a roof, food, and unsubsidized health insurance. It’s not because I don’t work hard. I do. It’s not because I don’t put in long hours making money. I do. It’s because housing, food, and full premium health insurance costs more than any job I’ve been able to get pays.
That warm glow you feel from what Dubya said today, that’s what McConnell and Ryan want you to feel. Don’t fall for it. Keep the pressure on. We need to bring down the whole monster, not just chop off its head. Yeah, Pence would be less chaotic, but don’t believe for a second he’d be any less toxic. Keep focused. Getting at least one chamber of congress in 2018 is essential. Don’t let anything distract you from that. Keep going to those protests and town hall meetings and write letters to the editor and find good candidates and run them or be one and do your damnedest to persuade everyone you know to commit to vote for them and then follow through on that commitment.
I have to work for money now, so I won’t be around to comment. I just needed to get this up here. Have a beautiful day.

I’m on break now and just read through the comments. I want to make it very clear that I am in no way objecting to the diary Vetwife posted earlier. In fact, I recced that one and agree that the words Bush said were good words.
BUT
I’m really worried that we’re gonna lose focus. The words that no one is paying attention to, as far as I can see, are the words Bush said about Burr. Burr is the guy who holds one of many possible keys to getting Trump dumped. Burr recently stated that he had not too much interest in that. Bush is putting pressure on Burr to change his mind. That may all seem well and good, but it’s really, really, really not in our interest to have a president Pence. Think about it. Would a president Agnew have been better than a president Nixon?
HELL NO.
We’ve got to play the long game here, folks. The chaos is doing exactly what Bannon intends it to do, which is just make us so happy when any relief comes from the torture, we’re so happy that we comply with any future demands.
Don’t do that. The upside of the chaos is that Ryan and McConnell can’t get anything done. That’s a good thing. We need time to get this right. Getting rid of Trump and getting Pence is like, as someone in the comments said, choosing between ebola and blackwater fever. We have other choices, they just will take a little longer.
Stay focused.
