Last night as I was trying to relax after a hard week of being on the campaign trail, someone tagged me on FB and brought the above post by Jason Chaffetz himself to my attention. He had posted on his webpage that his opponent was benefiting from Rosie O’Donnell’s help after she implored “liberals” to contribute the maximum amount to my campaign. I sent this via a private twitter message to Rosie, and she was not amused. She stated that she is not a coal mine and does not need to be shut down.
Pretty soon someone had posted another amusing meme because Chaffetz’ post above contains several typos. Liberal hilarity had begun. No one laughs quite like liberals because no one has access to our material.
Rosie and I had a nice little back-and-forth behind the public facade of Twitter (see image below, right).
Somedays the criticism gets you down. Everyone is giving unsolicited advice. Consultants are throwing their business cards at you. Op-Eds don’t go your way. Life just isn’t that much fun running for Congress.
Then there are other days when your opponent gives a little boost to your fundraising by insulting a beloved public figure. Those are the days you put some extra laughs in the bank against a future frowny day.
Last night was a big help, Jason. I’m still laughing.
Help me get this guy out while we still have a democracy to save: www.crowdpac.com/...
