Lord knows people do not like being told what to do and I find myself doing just that. It’s genuinely good advice and my sources are unimpeachable (funny choice of word, huh?) Among the audiences I offend the most are GOP “Christians,” who are among the first to tell you what to think, drink, smoke and poke. Believe it or not, as much as I open my mouth for everyone’s “betterment” I’m indifferent to any and all vices. It’s a waste of legislative time.
What is this issue that makes me want to risk social suicide? Bread, wheat, whole grain, and any derivative have no nutritional value, but to make matters worst, it is downright dangerous. It is also a genuine addiction; try giving it up. It’s harder than you think as it’s a genuine opium without any euphoria. They don’t call it a “pizza party” for nothing. Ever been to a “salad party?”
So, my sources: Dr. William Davis, author of the seminal work “Wheat Belly” and his close friend/colleague, Dr. David Perlmutter, author of the equally important “Grain Brain.” Mind you, Dr. Davis is a cardiologist. Dr. Perlmutter is a neurologist and nutritionist (on an MD scale). This is not Richard Simmons or Jane Fonda! The gluten-free bit sounds like them. That’s a fad, as many of those products use tapioca, starches, and corn flour.
The health consequences are surprisingly deadly and too numerous to mention here. Do read up on Dr. Davis and Perlmutter is opportunity affords. In the meantime, I’ll tell you the benefits: I was youthful to begin with and with the wheat fast this has extended into middle age. My bronchial and asthma condition are gone! The medicine cabinet is almost empty.
Almost...the medication I have remaining is anti-epileptic tablets. I want to blame this on wheat and I can, but with this fast a great many symptoms have abated. Seizures are dramatically reduced. Sleep is normal and many of the schizophrenic side effects of anti-epileptic medicine (supposedly marijuana causes this as well) are gone. Without this fast I’d be fat, sleep-ridden, asthmatic and nuts.
All the health-related celebrity deaths of people 35-55 yr.s in 2016 and the obscenely high rate of diabetes among other performers have happened within roughly the same time frame. These are people that have plenty of money for the “best” healthcare. Yet they are diseased, addicted and dying of health conditions that are diet, preventable and certainly not age related.
Where does that leave the rest of us who don’t have the resources these entertainment greats had. Do you think we will die prematurely as well?
