The one thing everybody on the planet knows about our terrible new president is that he loves to tweet. In fact, one might call him the first president in the history of the world to consistently embarrass his country and himself globally, every few hours. Here’s President Trump’s most recent tweet.
People don’t even want to come in to America anymore! Yeah! We are the beacon of freedom! With motivation like this, millions of Americans have taken to the streets, continued to make calls to their representatives, and donated in record numbers to online activist campaigns. Some computer-savvy developers have used their skill sets to provide all kinds of other progressive help. From chat bots that can help refugees who are seeking asylum to this very cool site called MakeTweetsGreatAgain, everyone is doing their share to push back on despotism. The MakeTweetsGreatAgain site is a fundraising site that donates money to the ACLU every time our unpopular president decides to embarrass us all by tweeting his insecure and frightened lies out for all to see.
The site is the work of HappyFunCorp developer Aaron Brocken, a product architect at the Brooklyn-based app development shop. [...]
In the wake of the election, Brocken, who grew up gay in the Midwest, felt exposed to a level of antagonism he hadn’t experienced since he made his way to New York.
“Living in New York City and working in tech, you feel pretty insulated [from hatred]. This is the first time in my life that I didn’t feel insulated.”
Like many of us, Brocken didn’t know what he could do. Was there anything he could tangibly contribute to make the world a better place? This was where the idea for MakeTweetsGreatAgain was born. They’ve set up their own Twitter page, just like the most powerful man in the free world.
But unlike our commander in chief, the reviews so far have been positive.
