MSNBC has been doing a really great job of informing people about the scandal ridden and existential threat to democracy that the Trump/GOP/Putin regime is. Maddow has been doing some real investigative journalism while O’donnell and Hayes are bringing on a collection of people to explain and explore the latest events of the day. O’donnell is just relentless with his constant hammering of Trump in his opening statements, while Hayes throws in subtle hints about the immorality of much of the GOP agenda.
I know there are many news purists here who shun anyone who doesn’t constantly attack the “corporatist, Republican lite, establishment...” main stream news media, and MSNBC makes their fair share of mistakes (hey! you try to put on an hour long news show 5 nights a week without making mistakes! :) ) but MSNBC has been doing a really good job of informing the public about political news.
Some pundits try to label MSNBC as the lefts version of FOX, which is absolute Bull Shit. FOX is a propaganda network who’s sole purpose is to lie, mislead, and manipulate their viewers so the Republican cult can gain and keep power. CNN is the king of false equivalency and will treat bald face liars the same as fact based pundits. MSNBC is a news network that caters to progressives who are interested in political news. They make mistakes, at times they get a bit enthusiastic, but they don’t deliberately lie and mislead their viewers.
They are being rewarded for their coverage of this fascist regime.
On Friday after the health care bill failed, more viewers watched Rachel Maddow (3.058 million) then watched Bill O’Reilly on Fox News (2.363 million). MSNBC’s The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell (2.328 million) drew more viewers than Fox’s Sean Hannity (2.235 million).
…
“The Rachel Maddow Show’s” total audience was up +106% over March 2016, while CNN was flat (+3%) and FOX News was up +11%. In the A25-54 demo, “The Rachel Maddow Show” grew +103% year-over-year, besting CNN (+14%) – attaining its biggest lead over CNN since February 2014 – and FOX News (+18%).

These Friday night ratings after the failure of the Republican effort to deny insurance to millions of people is a bit unusual for sure, but it may tells us something. I think it shows the right wing was so demoralized by the Trump/GOP failure that they didn’t want to hear about it, while the left was happy enough that they wanted to hear more.
It’s good to see that people who are reporting about the fascist threat to our democracy are getting rewarded. So if you’re a political junkie, or you just want to stay informed about politics, MSNBC is making every effort to get your attention.
RESIST!
