Unfortunately, Dave Trott, the foreclosure king, is the U.S. repsentative in my district, MI 11. Here’s a post from his facebook page (scrolled down a little to an article about the bill he posted on his page — the embed doesn’t work here) about today’s republican stunt — another tax cut bill for the wealthy or as the republicans call it their replacement for the ACA. Trott has not been having an easy time of it back in the district.
Things are a little heated in the comments section. The MI 11 district is one of the most gerrymandered districts in MI if not the country and it was cut out to allow the previous fool, Thaddeus McCotter, to hold onto his seat. McCotter managed to screw that up and we ended up with a guy pretending to be Santa complete with reindeer, Kerry Bentivolio. So we in the 11th, have had a rough few years.
Thankfully, the progressives in MI are getting more organized, joining progressive groups and doing the work that should be done by the less than stellar MDP. Several Democrats have put their hat in the ring for this seat. If his townhall debacle and the comments section on his facebook page are any indication, I think our little trott may have a hard time keeping his job. But not to worry, he made his millions foreclosing (there were some lawsuits contending that all was not kosher with the foreclosures) on Michiganders in the Big Crash of 2008.
I don’t know how much more the republicans think Michiganders and everyone else can take to give tax cuts to the uber wealthy.
