Donald Trump, Jr., today released an e-mail which actually rates BOMBSHELL status:
In an email sent to Trump Jr. on June 3, 2016, music promoter Rob Goldstone said he could facilitate a meeting to provide Trump Jr. with information that “would be very useful to your father,” at the time a Republican presidential candidate.
“The Crown prosecutor of Russia met with his father Aras this morning and in their meeting offered to provide the Trump campaign with some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father...
This is obviously very high level and sensitive information but is part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump...”
In my view, this meeting could well be considered a predicate act upon which a prosecution for criminal conspiracy could be made against Junior, as well as Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, who also attended the meeting.
Further, and perhaps more importantly, the predicate act occurred in New York City on 06/09/2016. The Russian hacking and concomitant conspiracy to unlawfully affect the presidential election was a federal crime, and Bob Mueller is investigating. But it is also a crime against the citizens of State of New York who participated in the election by voting. And state criminal convictions are not susceptible to a presidential pardon.
For this reason, I sent the following e-mail to New York AG Schneiderman. I urge others to contact his office:
Dear General Schneiderman:
Recent news report have detailed a meeting in New York City on June 9, 2016 between Donald Trump, Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner and Natalia Veselnitskaya, a lawyer and agent of the Russian government. It appears this meeting was an act in furtherance of a criminal conspiracy to defraud the citizens of the United States - and more importantly the citizens of the State of New York, by illegally affecting the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
I understand that Robert Mueller is investigating these activities at the federal level, but I am concerned that Trump Sr., could pardon the actors in an effort to limit his own exposure. However, presidential pardon powers do not apply to convictions or charges at the state level.
I implore you to use the vast resources of your office to bring the criminal conspirators to justice in a manner that cannot be tampered with by the present rogue regime in Washington.
Thank you for you attention and kind consideration in this matter.
