Joe S may be an ex-politician, but he is GOP and he is throwing the mantle down. No other republican has this courage. Lindsay and John McCain are simply milk toast. THEY are chattering at the edges and I give them absolutely no credit for their puny comments. History will judge the GOP very harshly, not just for their inaction, but their hypocrisy. There really should be a WAVE election in 2018, but I am not convinced. I see no real OUTRAGE among the DEMS, just mini-me Outrage.
You would think once Trump returned to these shores after “G-19,” they would have gone on 24/7 about the failure of his trip and the increasing marginalization of Trump and the USA on the world stage a la the Australian BBC reporter. There ought to be a House DEM news conference every single day to discuss the latest Trump et al. technical foul against our country. WHERE is the crap about Qatar and Jared or Eric Prince and attempts at War profiteering? I just cannot believe that “letting them dig their own grave” is a winning strategy. Where is the even modest complaint (or attempt at a explanation) about the depressed wage gap in the economy despite the Obama-continuing job numbers? Repubs out of power would have jumped on that. Or the stalled infrastructure plan to rebuild our roads and bridges. And the sneaky, sneaky attempts to pass Trumpcare in the dark of night in the next week? I will give them some points on healthcare, but mainly we hear from grass roots activists, not enough from our elected politicians who mostly sit in safe districts.
Most Americans don’t follow any of this that much — the DEMS must punch through this apathy and low attention span. I don’t think I know anyone besides myself who is on Twitter in my Circle. I am not even optimistic about 2018. I read that piece about the horrific DNC controlled media handlers that hoarded the Ossoff money for his campaign. DEMS just do not know how to play hardball. Even Obama was pretty weak at this game. I have very little belief now that the Supreme Court is likely lost for the rest of my life unless some out of the universe bizarre circumstances arise.
Last, why does ANYONE report on Gorsuch unless they say in the same sentence “he sits on a seat stolen by the Republicans, and who also cheated in the Senate to get him appointed.” All the reporting I see, just says something like “this is one of Trump’s few victories...uhum….” Count me downcast.
