The story that is making the rounds now is the kind of faux pas we’ve come to expect at regular intervals with this disastrous “administration” we have at the top.
“You’re in such good shape,” Mr. Trump told Mrs. Macron, who was standing in a grand marble hall with her back to a camera that recorded the incident. He then turned to the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and said, “She’s in such good physical shape.”
“Beautiful,” Mr. Trump said, turning to the first lady of France. She appeared to grab Mr. Trump’s wife, Melania, by the arm and take a step backward. Mrs. Trump stood next to her, smiling.
Trump ‘moved on’ a recently married woman ‘like a bitch.’ It is likely that if Melania ever had an expectation of a monogamous relationship with Trump, that expectation was long ago abandoned. It is easy to interpret Trump’s language in this case as an invitation to “swing” with the Macron’s, and possibly Melania.
Ironically, Trump might have preferred swinging with one-time favorite to win the French presidency, and ex-President Nicolas Sarkozy, who is married to Carla Bruni, whom Trump once lied about dating (claiming that he did date her).
But perhaps Ms. Bruni would have declined a new rendez vous.
"Trump is obviously a lunatic," Bruni said of the story in an interview with the Daily Mail later that year. "It's so untrue and I'm deeply embarrassed by it all. I've only ever met him once, about a year ago, at a big charity party in New York. And I haven't seen him since, of that I'm sure."
