Good morning! Welcome to the DKos Sangha weekly open thread.
This is an open thread for members of the DKos Sangha and interested visitors who happen by. Each of us has our own path; we come here by way of many different traditions, and of no particular tradition. While the language we use may differ depending on the traditions, teachers, practices, and teachings that have shaped our journeys, we find in common, generally, a search for who we truly are, our true nature, and to bring the peace and compassion born of that search into the greater world of which we are a part. If you wish to share, or if you seek support, or if you simply want to say hello, please do; this space is for you.
The stillness is always here.
Thoughts will come and go throughout the day. There may be times when you are focused on the work that you are doing, or on what a friend is saying at lunch, or on the music that is playing. But all of that is arising within the stillness.
It is always here, always available. You can return to it at any time; for a moment or two, or for longer.
The stillness, this simple awareness, is the ground of our being. To abide in and as awareness is to be at peace.
Here there is just one; just the direct experience of this present moment.
As the conditioned thought patterns of egoic self dissipate over time, the stillness and peace become deeper.
Being at peace is a profoundly different way of being in the world. There is still work, and cooking, and dishes, and meetings with friends. But all of it arises within the stillness; all of it appearing within awareness.
Within this moment there is the invitation to inquire within, to inquire into the nature of our experience of this present moment, to notice what is arising, to notice that within which all is arising, to be that which is our natural state of being, to be at peace, to be whole, to be one.
It is from here that everything unfolds.
And it is within this presence that everything is.
~~
The stillness is always right here.
Notice the thoughts the arise and fall away.
Notice the sounds that arise and fall away.
Notice that within which the thoughts and sounds arise and fall away.
That spacious awareness, that deep stillness,
That ocean of peace.
This is your natural state of being.
Rest here
Abide here
Just this
