This week US President Donald Trump made a rather absurd and awkward speech at a jamboree gathering of thousands of young boy scouts. The speech included bitter commentary that was critical of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Media, the Affordable Care Act, and much more.
Who the hell wants to speak about politics in front of Boy Scouts?" Trump said before offering a striking but contradictory series of thoughts about health care, President Barack Obama, and the "cesspool or sewer" of Washington.
Yesterday, the Boy Scouts organization leadership now humiliated expressed public regret apologized for the president's long, awkward, and at most times seemingly, "clueless," diatribe during their event.
Chief Scout Executive for the Boy Scouts of America Michael Surbaugh, said a online statement that re-emphasized the organization’s non-partisan traditions, adding,
“We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program,” and also saying that “political rhetoric” should never have been inserted into the event. For those “offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the jamboree. That was never our intent.”
The flurry of gaffes from the President are now growing more routine, and frequent day by day, for example;
Several weeks ago President Trump made a puzzling claim about Andrew Jackson and the Civil War in an interview. (pictured, below)
While speaking to the Washington Examiner, Trump was quoted as “wonder why issues that triggered the war “could not have been worked out” in order to prevent the bloody conflict.”
Further in the interview-” Trump praised the accomplishments of Jackson, “the populist)president”
At the end of the Washington Post interview-Trump made the puzzling claim that Jackson “was really angry that he saw what was happening in regard to the Civil War.” But Jackson died in 1845, and the Civil War didn't begin until 16 years later, in 1861.
The only word that we can say at this point is "Priceless." (glg)
