Good morning! Welcome to the DKos Sangha weekly open thread.
This is an open thread for members of the DKos Sangha and interested visitors who happen by. Each of us has our own path; we come here by way of many different traditions, and of no particular tradition. While the language we use may differ depending on the traditions, teachers, practices, and teachings that have shaped our journeys, we find in common, generally, a search for who we truly are, our true nature, and to bring the peace and compassion born of that search into the greater world of which we are a part. If you wish to share, or if you seek support, or if you simply want to say hello, please do; this space is for you.
The smell of the tomato plants on my hands. A drink of water. The path moves through warm sunlight and cool shade. A sudden breeze touches the skin.
What is this place?
When separation falls away, this place is, in a very real sense of the words, who we are; whether it is a room, a porch, a path through the woods.
The words are only words; they are not a statement to be believed. Rather, they point towards, they are an invitation to, direct experience.
The more that we cling to, the more separated we are. Again, this isn’t something to be merely believed; we can examine our experience.
Those who have been this way before us have left many pointers, teachings that can be helpful along the path. These teachings are not to be believed; that isn’t their purpose. Again; they invite us to examine for ourselves, to inquire deeply into the nature of who we are, to open, to release, to let separation fall away.
There is a natural curiosity about this gift of a lifetime as a human being. It is as if something deep inside is calling to us, insistently suggesting to us that there is something more than what appears on the surface, something beyond the veil.
This place?
The plants, the sunlight, the breeze, the drink of water; the path.
There is nothing but this. Just this.
