Whom should Trump pardon next?
There is one particular case that cries out for Trump's heart for clemency - but I'm afraid it won't happen.
This case is just too small and insignificant for Trump, and he would also be conflicted to some degree; unlike in Arpaio's case, some few people in Trump's base have publicly distanced themselves from this supporter's actions.
This supporter, while supporting the birther platform, didn't expend serious effort nor resources to help prove the Kenyan usurper's illegitimacy.
This supporter, while associating with and being shaped by "very fine people," agreed with what Arpaio and Trump seem to feel: "Hispanics are obviously a huge problem for Americans." He went on to say, of course, "But there are good hispanics and bad hispanics." Still, he was in no position to take any action to protect our country against the "bad hispanics" as Sheriff Joe spent his career doing. So he falls short there, too.
We must give him this: he showed bravery. "Well someone has to have the bravery to take it to the real world, and I guess that has to be me." In that, he stood up to the strengths of his convictions.
But sadly, his results didn't measure up to Sheriff Joe's - and that alone makes it less likely that our President will pardon him, even if the pesky limitations about state versus federal categories of charges weren't already an impediment.
Sheriff Joe, with his loyal supporters and employees, caused the death of uncountable brown-skinned people, and tortured at least dozens more. His work was productive enough to earn him the respect of our President.
However, Dylann Roof only took out nine. Sadly, that just doesn't rise to the level of earning the use of Trump's power to pardon.
