We wonder why children are so disrespectful these days. I was watching TV the last few days because of being stuck at home with Irma and really noticed a disturbing trend.
One shows a teacher talking about going on vacation. Her classroom is totally out of control and the children are being totally disrespectful.
A second shows a dad coming home with pizza, bragging about finding a great pizza deal, The son, about 5 at most, asks if he got a particular deal. The father looks downcast and says he got a bad deal. The kid, dressed in a suit by the way, calls the dad over and takes off the #1 that’s on his hat so it now says Dad rather than #1 Dad.
More and more commercials are showing children as the adults and adults acting like children.
Sorry, but I find this trend of children being authority figures a serious problem. Children see these and assume that’s the way things should be. Adults are so busy with their own lives, they ignore their children or the children are forced to be the adults because the adults in their lives have abdicated their responsibilities to this precious next generation.
To ad companies, it may seem funny or cute but it’s not. It’s actually showing a problem with our society. A problem where so many adults are so involved in their lives, they ignore their children, who are raising themselves. Why is family night or family dinners even coming up? It’s too bad our lives have become so busy we have to make an appointment for family dinner, going to the movies or even couple time at night.
