Hi, folks. This is a follow-up to my “feeling pinched” diary from yesterday. I posted it because I’m coming up short on the funds to cover utilities and groceries through October. Plus, I’m about 10 days out from needing to refill LuvLee’s “tummy medicine” ($50 for the refill) as well as plan ahead for her annual shots & checkup in November.
Yesterday, I figured a need of about $290 to cover bills and groceries, and thanks to the help that came in I was able to clear the two bills that were due today. So, yay! And thanks :)
However, it wasn’t until I double-checked today that I realized it didn’t include LuvLee’s medicine, and not very much for groceries. So I need to bump my remaining need up a little and ask for $250. Thanks to the help & orders that came in Weds. evening, it’s now down to $170. Note: this number may be revised in the morning, as I am half-asleep in the wee hours as I write this ;)
That breaks out to $160 $80 for the 2 remaining bills, $50 for LuvLee’s meds, and the rest for groceries etc. I’ll be eating frugally, but I already have some stuff on hand so it’s not too bad. I’m so sorry about the mistake; it’s really embarrassing to have to ask for more, but — my bad :((
I’d love to fund most of this through my business activities. As many of you know, I run an arts & crafts business that provides most of my earned income. I’ve been busy making new items for my Zibbet shop, and I have more that I will add this week and since they’re all handmade, they make special gifts for the holidays! Or anytime. (Purchases paid through PayPal get to me instantly, but fyi — if you pay with a credit card at checkout the money will be held for a week before I can access it. That’s just the way it works.) So if you possibly can use PayPal when ordering from my shop, that would really help.
My mission with the arts & crafts is to make beautiful things that make people happy. I hope these new items will show that that’s really what I do ( and yes, as of this writing they’re available :)
Another great way to help while keeping me making stuff is to support my Patreon page. In fact new or increased pledges will help me now, with the first pledge reaching me immediately, and help me later as subsequent pledges are charged on the 1st of every month to follow. It’s a great way to build sustainable income for artists, and my Patrons get early access to my creative output, plus exclusive content and really cool thank-you gifts for being part of “Team Jan” ;)
In case I can’t sell enough to make these ends meet (it happens) I am always grateful for your support through contributions. Summarizing all the ways to help:
PayPal is burchjan atgmail dotcom (friends and family, please); purchases using PayPal from my Zibbet shop and "coffee" through Ko-Fi will also help.
And please consider becoming a Patron at www.patreon.com/…
PS: for those who want to know How I Got Here: Let me refer you to this diary, wherein I detail the backstory about my precarious financial situation. But the short answer is, I outlived my money.
