On Oct 19, 2018, Carson News*, in a promo for a book, named the most prominent targets for the pipe-bomb attacks that began on Monday, October 22. The latest bomb package was found on Thursday, Oct. 25.
What I’m referring to is the promo copy for a book by Jerome Corsi, Killing the Deep State, in which Corsi claims there’s a Deep State conspiracy to bring down the sainted President Trump.
What's really going on, what Corsi is trying to explain, through a conspiracy theory: a good part of the nearly 60 percent of voters who did not vote for Trump, or Republican “policies,” are using every piece of leverage they have to save Democracy, save ordinary citizens, not the billionaires and corporations that Trump and all his henchman are working for. And we are horrified by the blatant graft and self-dealing at the highest levels of Government.
And yes, we're talking about impeachment: no President has been as corrupt as Trump, but he is also a corrupter, a powerful model for grifters everywhere.
However, there is no conspiracy. What there is: civil servants are not liberal or conservative, except they are conservative in the sense that they resist fundamental changes to their department, or bureau. However, the Trump administration is bent on radically changing or eviscerating the very reason for many departments’ existence, and all the people who have devoted their careers to it. No wonder they resist.
That's not some deep dark Deep State conspiracy. It’s called bureaucratic resistance. Students of Public Administration have been familiar with the concept, since the ancient Chinese Empire. In this case, it's a lot better than carrying out anti-environmental, predatory, exploitative policies, that are radical, not conservative, at all. The true conservative acts the meaning of the word: he/she conserves. Trump and Co are not conserving, they’re destroying, and trying to rip off public property, north and south--to get rich while they still can. They seem to be in a hurry, possibly because they know Americans won't stand for it, once they realize what’s happening.
Outraged Americans like me don't need a conspiracy, and we don't need the money of a Soros, either. Just notice: the high level of funding for Democratic candidates comes from small donations by lots and lots of people who care. The majority of funds come in $15's and $20's, or $50's and with a few exceptions, not from billionaires, big donors, or corporations, either.
“Holder urged his fellow Democrats to “kick them,” noted the promo.
Trump praised a follower, who “body-slammed” a reporter, before Holder’s ‘kick them’ comment: both were deplorable.
In the promo, they state: “Clearly, they are in a frenzy,” ‘they’ being the “Deep State,” or Democrats.
It’s the GOP, who are turning to desperate measures, like blocking 53,000 voters from registering in Georgia, preventing Dakota tribal people from voting, saying they don’t have proper addresses: they get their mail at the US PO; they’ve only been living in this country for thousands of years. And those are only two of many attempts at voter suppression, anti-democratic actions, if ever there was one.
“They are seeking to destroy and annihilate Trump and anyone associated with him.” the promo states.
“And the driving force behind them — the reason the left has gone so full-on radical extreme left….”
Compared to almost any other country, Democrats, even the most progressive Democrats, like Bernie, are Social Democrats, not socialists. There is nothing radical about trying to rein in the invasive agenda of militant new and old money, awakened to greed and aggression by their model, DJT.
Reagan Books, a right wing propaganda outfit, is giving this book away, Killing the Deep State, Maybe it’s because it's not even worth the paper it's printed on.
Reagan Books and Carson News are inciting violence among their duped followers, to protect poor beleaguered Trump. It’s no accident that the people targeted by the pipe-bomb mailings were mentioned in the book and, the most prominent, in the promo. Someone must have read it and decided: these people needed to be killed, or intimidated.
That is the effect of inducing fear and hatred among Trump’s “base.”
Let’s hope Trump doesn’t have a “Reichstag fire,” or another 9/11, to justify absolute rule. Beware: it can happen here.
