Like a million others, I donated, I volunteered, I voted. Now that we’ve taken back the House I want to see real action.
I want to see Trump’s tax returns.
I want to see a real investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 eelection that got us Trump.
I want to see a real investigation into collusion with the Russians (they’re two different things, remember).
I want to know if Kavanaugh lied during his hearing, and not about Ford, the other Iies.
I want to know if Jared gave a list to Saudi Arabia that ended up getting people killed.
The list goes on and on.
And I’m certain that if House Dems don’t move on stuff like this—hard—that we’ll lose in 2020. Because it’s clear from yesterday’s votes that base, and rank-and-file Democrats, and the young, and the marginalized will come out to vote if Dems deliver something to vote for. (Note to leadership: little policy wins around the edges ain’t it. Anything good that comes of that Trump will just take credit for).
I don’t want to hear about bipartisanship, or comity, or moderation. Yesterday’s vote showed that the folks on the other side won’t be won over no matter what. But we can sure lose folks who voted on our side if House Dems don’t show the nerve to stand up and fight back hard and dramatically against Trump and his minions and their moves towards oligarchy and the destruction of Democracy.
