Last night I watched a compelling piece called Icebox.
This is not a documentary, but might as well be. You will be captured by the story of the boy, Oscar, who is from Honduras. He makes it to the US to escape a gang that threatened his life. Of course he is taken into custody by ICE and put in an ICE juvenile detention camp.
I won’t tell the whole story here, but urge you to watch it if you possibly can.
Every aspect of it has the ring, not only of truth, but of the present reality for unaccompanied minors in ICE custody.
Well done, everyone who put this excellent film together. Kudos all around.
At this point it is only on HBO, but I am hoping that it will be made more widely available.
