Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour cleverly located at the intersection of religion and politics. This is an open thread where we can share our thoughts and comments about the day. One of the galleries in the Maritime Museum and Heritage Center in Newport, Oregon, is dedicated to art display. One of the recent artists whose work was displayed was Carol Pulvermacher. According to the display:
“Carol Pulvermacher is best known as a self-taught wood burning wildlife artist (pyrographer). As a teenager she picked up a wood burning tool and learned to create for family and friends in rural southern Wisconsin.”
Artist statement:
“After years of creating Wood Burned Wildlife Art, I have found a new passion. I am inspired by abstract expressionism, with an influence of Northwest native imagery. The bold lines and colors of the native style are enlivened by the drip painting. When combined they offer a look at life today, as the struggle for calm meets daily chaos.”
