“38 times since 2010 Police were called to Cruz's house!” Why didn’t the "police and FBI" do something? Are we actually THAT stupid? In 2010, Cruz was 8 yrs. old. Minor’s records are sealed. That is "how" he passed a background check too. As a minor, his records couldn't be used against him. Quit blaming the police or FBI. A minors criminal offenses committed before they are legally of age, are considered private and confidential and not to be used against their record as adults. That way, a kid of 8 shoplifting a candy bar and convicted, won’t have it held against him as an adult. Let’s quit looking for "Who" is to blame and put the blame on the weapon bought and used instead. He passed Gov. Rick Scotts Fla. background check and purchased a weapon designed for the sole purpose of killing human beings, fast and efficiently. He could have purchased this weapon in any state that allows their sale.
IF this gun hadn't been for sale to begin with, he wouldn't have been able to purchase it legally. We say he is too young to buy a .38 hand gun, yet he is old enough to buy a "rifle" (what an AR 15 is classified as). WHY?
Trump and the Republicans repealed the Obama gun restrictions on mentally ill people. Sen. Grasselly Promoted it almost immediately after Trump was sworn in. Trump jumped to sign it. It stopped the FBI and local law enforcement from placing those deemed to mentally unfit to own weapons on a "don’t sell" database. To be able to give a NO on background checks. Instead The NRA purchased Senators and Representatives jumped to fulfill their master’s request. They have since then, failed to enact ANY gun ownership requirement laws too.
Paul Ryan ALWAYS uses the same "preformed" statement: "it’s too soon AFTER this (any) tragedy to discuss any gun policies or regulations" The Republicans use the worn out excuse each time too: "it’s being politicized" by anyone who is angered by it. Then they drop it, yet again, till the "next mass shooting" occurs. They postpone any talk about it. Then they don’t bring it up again TILL the next horrible mass shooting grabs our attention. Then we start the same worn out lies and lines yet again. The Republican view is "We don’t want to discuss it, before, during or after a tragedy because the NRA doesn't want us to and they won’t give us anymore election funding and bonuses either if we do the job we were elected to do" “If we ignore it, maybe it will just go away, again."
The only serious way to enact real gun safety policies and measures, is to vote out those who "willingly" except and or beg for NRA funding and perks. We must get corporate "dark" money out of our congress and politics. We must hold those who accepted it to vote for the NRA policies and ideologies, accountable when Tragedies that could and should have been prevented, happen.
Rick Scott needs to resign. Marco Rubio needs to resign. The FBI director didn’t take or except "funds" from the NRA. He didn’t create or repeal the laws set up to protect us or favor them. He isn’t anymore responsible for his subordinate’s actions than the CEO of Taco Bell being responsible for an Indiana store getting robbed or burned down. You have layers of agents and management that are to blame and layers and layers of supervisors and area directors that failed. The Director is the least responsible person in the chain.
Yet Scott and Sessions want his head; why? Not because of this particular shooting. My guess is they threw it out to see if it could possibly stick as a reason to possibly fire him and end Trumps "Russian collusion" problems. Rick Scott could, if he chose to, ban assault style weapons in Fla., at any time. Would he obtain and become the object of their (the NRA) full wrath and political hate? Yes. Rubio could go against his Masters and actually back tighter rules for gun ownership anytime, but he won’t. It would hurt their funding his reelection efforts and funding possibilities. It would draw the full ire of the NRA. They would effectively "blackball" their political careers, if they ever attempted to do anything. Would it be "doing what’s best for their citizens? Yes. Would it make them the enemy of the NRA and a "political enemy", gaining their full financial and political wrath and ire? Yes. Will they ever go against their MASTERS will? NO.
Remember these and the other NRA puppets come this November when you cast your votes. Remember who pays them for their inaction on gun policy and mass shootings. Take their "thought and prayers" and give them back to them on the unemployment lines they so deservedly earned. Hold them accountable for their failures in protecting our children and families. For their failing to allow any legislation to either be introduced or voted on to save live from being taken by assault style weapons. Put the real blame where it actually belongs, totally in their hands and on their heads.
As a gun owner, I welcome tougher background checks. Tighter regulations. More restrictions on what you can actually own and buy and possess. More and improved safety. Better training and licensing. Restrictions on the amounts you can buy, own and possess at one time. Most real gun owners and enthusiast do too. The NRA and Republicans cant, wont and don’t. More guns equal more sales equal more campaign contributions which equal even more needless deaths from those who should never be sold or allowed to own weapons to begin with.
We don’t want to ban guns, rifles, or shotguns. Only those guns designed for the sole purpose of killing humans fast and efficiently. We don’t want to "take your guns" just the ones that should have "never been sold" to the general public to begin with. We don’t want to "repeal the second amendment" or revoke it or rewrite it. We just want to insure it is used wisely and as it was intended to by our Founders, not the NRA's interpretation of that amendment is or what they think it meant.
Real Gun management and policy needs to be taken up and enforced. We made alcohol legal if you’re over 21. We banned cocaine and heroin from being used. We require driver’s license and plates and insurance to be even allowed to drive and safety equipment out the wazoo to be in the vehicle driven we restrict the front seat from small children. You must wear a seatbelt. We limit dog ownership and require license and all shots up to date and they must be tagged and on a leash when outside in the public. Safety first.
Yet I can go into a Grocery store and be around a man with an assault rifle while buying groceries. My dog can’t shop with me as it’s not safe or clean, but a armed man can freely move around. It doesn’t make any sense at all. If my kids have to ride in the backseat and I have to wear a seatbelt and have insurance to just drive, isn’t it feasible some changes need to be made in gun regulations to make them safer for the rest of us too? Stop listening to the "propaganda" and "misinformation" being spread to keep laws from being enacted.
The NRA's propaganda machine is every bit as evil as the Russian Trolls Mueller just indicted. They are every bit as effective as the Russians were getting Trump elected. We need to start thinking about what happens when we ignore enacting common sense laws designed to prevent mass shootings and our kids being killed. Making it easier to get weapons and to own weapons doesn’t work and makes our lives more dangerous. It doesn't work. People die. Ease more policies, even more people die. If easing them DIDNT make us safer, then WHY not try TIGHTENING THEM instead and see if that works? The NRA's plan has epically failed. It didn’t and hasn’t EVER worked. "If you take our guns, only criminals will have them!" Really? Who said they wanted to take your guns? The NRA, that’s who. Not Real Gun owners or hunters. We know its Bull and ignore it. You should too.
Our kids deserve better. Our Citizens deserve better. WE deserve better.
