It’s beyond cliche, because it is the plot of just about every “teenage movie.”
The one where the kids find out that the cliche villain is planning to destroy their (park, school, pond, ski area, beach, etc.). Cliche businessman villain is ALWAYS fifty or older, white guy, wears a suit. The “kids” don’t wear suits, and are patronized by the adults.
So the fictional kids all band together in secret and they come up with a clever scheme to beat the cartoon villain at his own game, using his own tools. Even the cast is a cliche. There’s usually a “leader,” there is a passionate girl who represents the conscience of the group, and a class clown.
It isn’t a movie, but now it seems to be actually happening. I can’t believe we need “the kids” to save the country.
These kids seem to be right out of central casting, but in this movie the bullets are real, and the dead people didn’t get back up for another “take.”
