Received this e-mail today from Braddock Mayor and now *very happy to say) Lt. Governor Democratic nominee, John Fetterman (D. PA):
Just 4 days ago it became official — Governor Tom Wolf and I will face off against Harrisburg insider Scott Wagner.
And already, Republican insiders and their big money donors are scrambling to stop our wave of progressive activism from crashing down on them in November.
You know the drill: deep-pocketed donors feel threatened by an energized grassroots base, and they commit themselves to doing anything — or spending any amount of money — to tilt the outcome of an election in their favor.
But I know Tom and I have a secret weapon that Scott Wagner doesn't have: thousands of grassroots donors who are fired up and ready to fight for progressives up and down the ballot in 2018.
Progressives like you who helped put Tom and I on the ticket are fighting for key House seats that will help us win back a Democratic Congress in November. And with each of these targeted House races more winnable than ever, Tom and I are ready to do everything we can to help them paint Congress blue in 2018. So I have to ask:
Thanks to Governor Wolf's fight against Republican gerrymandering, Pennsylvanians have a huge opportunity to make their voices heard in competitive elections. Democrats can pick up seats in places that were thought to be "too red" just a few months ago. And with a record number of women winning their primaries this past Tuesday, we finally have the chance to add women to Pennsylvania's Congressional Delegation.
There's so much on the line for Democrats in 2018. Governor Wolf and I are standing strong and unified, but we need a people-powered movement to power us, and all Democrats, to victory in November.
