WYFP !
Sorry about some probable grammar and spelling errors that may occur in this. This is kind of an experiment for me. but here goes.
My FP is (other than Nov ‘16) kind of started last Nov. 11th. I was feeling depressed around the 1 yr anniversary of the disaster that was foisted upon all of us the previous year.
My daughter came home from work that evening with a dog in tow. We moved out of the small condo I owned, and into a house with her long term boyfriend (who is a great guy) She knows I am a dog lover, and haven’t been able to have one because the condo association didn’t allow pets (won’t say anything about the 2 cats and guinea pigs we had snuck in tho).
‘Its just for a couple of weeks, maybe a month until his owner can find a place that allows dogs’. I was happy to do it, so welcome to Boozer, Texas rescue, 9 ½ year old bully, boxer, and is a wonderful dog. He tries to sleep with me in my single bed. he is a ‘sweetsie’. Well that was over 6 months ago. Being from Texas, his first winter in Wisconsin was kind of interesting. He was confused by the snow, and I told him he had to learn how to ‘Wisconsin’. He did. When I eat something, and if its something its ok for him to have, I diligently pay my ‘Boozer tax’ (being the sucker I am, dogs always know who to sit by at mealtime) but never too much.
His ‘owner’ has only been over to see him 1.5 times during these 6 months, so it looks like we probably have a dog :) .
My FP is I’m retired, on a fixed income tho, and worry about looming vet bills that will occur with an older dog. I can barely afford my own insurance and health care. I have always had sympathy for people who are lower income and love and want to care for their fur babies, but just don’t have the money. That doesn’t mean they love their animals any less. People can be so quick to judge.
I love having him around, and hope I didn’t screw this up. Tried to figure out the ‘autopost’.
