Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is looking unexpectedly weak in his re-election bid, and the Koch brothers are swooping in to help bail him out. Americans for Prosperity is launching a $1.8 million ad buy supporting Walker:
The AFP ad quotes positive comments from [Democratic challenger Tony] Evers for Walker’s most recent education budget, including calling it “pro-kid.”
Evers has said that he praised the additional spending for public schools because Walker was proposing much of what Evers put forward as state superintendent.
Talk about cherrypicking: Evers has had plenty to say about Walker’s education record, and it hasn’t been complimentary.
But Walker is going to need the Koch group’s money—and its dishonesty—to win in 2018.
