It was just reported that the Thursday Kavanaugh vote is postponed and a hearing is schedule for next Monday. Both Kavanaugh and his accuser, Professor Christine Blasey Ford, will testify.
A showdown is now set up between Kavanaugh and his accuser. However, Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh were not the only two people in the room. It need not be a ‘he said, she said’ at the upcoming hearing. Ford has also accused Kavanaugh friend Mark Judge of being present and, in fact, participating in the attempted rape.
Judge has a pretty interesting history, having written extensively about his “black out” drunk youthful alcoholism as well as his views on rape and feminism. Perhaps not surprisingly his pervy twitter and other social media post have now vanished.
When the attempted rape allegations came out Judge initially gave this response:
The Weekly Standard asked Judge if he saw Kavanaugh engaged in any sort of “rough-housing” with a female student in high school, which he also denied. “I can’t. I can recall a lot of rough-housing with guys. It was an all-boys school, we would rough-house with each other,” he said. “I don’t remember any of that stuff going on with girls.”
He later amended his comments in an interview with The Weekly Standard:
"It's just absolutely nuts. I never saw Brett act that way,"
Emptywheel (March Wheeler) has for the last two days been asking the question. Why, if there is a witness, does the Senate Judiciary Committee not ask him, under oath and under penalty of perjury, for his testimony? Indeed, she just tweeted:
Seems like a no-brainer!
Let Mark Judge, the witness, tell his story.
I’m certain that he could clear things up a lot.
