Take a look at three videos. Jason Crow (D) in Colorado’s Sixth District is going to take down Mike Coffman (R) after many have tried, and here’s how it’s done — take note all Dems in purple-ish districts.
First, tout your own bone-fides, and play to basic Democratic party values (and take on the relatively timid military record of your opponent:
Defend yourself vigorously:
Get some help from the DCCC — yes, they are helping!
I just saw all three of these ads on local media in Denver stations. No ads from Coffman on at all this evening.
Jason Crow is up by 11 points now (
NYT poll ), and the lead may grow. We may finally get rid of Coffman and his “independent” image that is just that — smoke and mirrors. He’s a Trump policy supporter, and good riddance.
Crow was an early supporter of replacing Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, and spoke at the 2012 convention. He supported Mark Udall in his failed 2014 re-election, but won’t fail this time.
Even if you don’t have the military record, this campaign shows how to stop Repugs — tout yourself, thwart attacks if you can, and turn the tables by stating the opponents support for Trump policies. Almost every Repug has done so, and it’s time to make them pay.
