Well it is true that What Goes Around, Comes around. Kavinaugh knows it too. But of course he states it as a threat to anybody who might cross him or defy his legitimacy, the implications of a Supreme Court justice making threats aimed at the entire nation is astounding. It is in fact scary.
But I think another interpretation is in order. Kavinaugh is a living example of how what one does to a 15 year old girl when you are a stupid drunk 17 year old can forever sully your ascent to the throne of Supreme Justice when you are an entitled (pseudo)adult.
I guess when push comes to shove between the competing interpretations, Brett Kavinaugh is still a stupid man who thinks he can get away with anything. And whether as a threat or a consequence, what goes around does indeed come around. It is too bad that nobody told him that Karma is a two sided universal law. I somehow don`t think this will be the last time Brett Kavinaugh will be asked to atone for his actions.
If I were somehow able to counsel Brett Kavinaugh, here is what I would say:
What goes around does indeed come around Brett Kavinaugh, and no matter that it makes you spitting mad, and crying sad, your name is indeed forever ruined, and all because you had to be a stupid and violent drunk who thought he could get away with anything. Actions have consequences and they are not necessarily immediate. How is it that nobody in your church told you this?
Let us all be cautioned by this truth.
